YUM strange behaviour

Today I was trying to compile kiwix source code and it was showing "error:unable to find nsISupports.idl". I executed "yum whatprovides nslSupports.idl" but no results, then I moved to google and found out xulrunner-devel is provide that dependency. I again rechecked using "repoquery -l xulrunner-devel" and found out "/usr/share/idl/xulrunner-2/nsISupports.idl". I have no idea why yum or repoquery was not able to find out xulrunner-devel is provide nslSupports.idl or am I using wrong options?

Then I executed "yum install xulrunner-devel" and got Error: Protected multilib versions: krb5-libs-1.10-5.fc17.i686 != krb5-libs-1.10-6.fc17.x86_64. I didn't able to figure it out how to resolve it. Any Suggestions?

FUDCon KL-2012 last day

Well everybody looked exhaust may be because of FUDPub last night, we left for UCTI around 8.15, attendee count was less that day. Day started according to schedule (10.00).

My packaging talk started at audi, I talked about very basic stuff  like creating a spec, little bit of macros and tags, rpmbuild, rpmlint and fedora rpm build server(koji), then Ankur jumped in and gave some additional background. After that Christoph advanced packaging talk scheduled. He again gave a basic demo and using packaging guideline he able to pack beaver from scratch within 20 mins. Then he showed some really cool stuff using his spec files.

Aditya was talking about puppet, I was not able to attend his session because of packaging session.

people seemed a little lethargic, andi kind of empty then after lunch again we announced barcamp. That was a great idea, looked like everyone get energy and people were participating for talk and sharing their ideas. I jumped in with rpm packaging workshop.

I missed Abu Mansur Manaf’s keynote because of  workshop but when it completed I run to audi. Izhar was giving a thanks note to everyone who made this event a success, following that, lucky draw for 2 Galaxy Tabs which was sponsored by OSCC-MAMPU and great thing was both Tabs went to volunteers hand, Volunteers did a awesome job to make this event a success.

End of the day everybody gathered in front of college for group photo. Well every beginning have ending but it was a great experience, met lots of contributors, enthusiastic students , awesome volunteers. Again Kudos to organizing team who did a great job to make this event a success in less time.

After that went for fedora-tour session, Ankur talked about fedora tour plans and showed mock-ups. His purpose was to find some HTML/CSS contributor, we had a great discussion with students about contribution.

After talk we went to hangout room, there Aditya was struggling with wifi connectivity which later solved by crew team.

End of the day we have some lightning talks. Christoph showed LXDE features, he finished 70 pages slides around 6-7 mins .. quite fast eh :). He also gave another talk about "This is why you fail and how to avoid it" - what are the flaws generally occur and how it's affect to project. Salimma talked about ROX desktop and showed little demo. Syamsul Anuar talked about virtualization and that talk was so fast .. it's just went over my head :).
FUDPub was planned that night, everyone gathered Sri Petaling Hotel around 8.00, soon fedora (TM) cakes arrived, Christoph and Izhar cut the cake,  just after that kushal put cake to Izhar face and then cake war started, people started putting cake to each other face, looked like holi festival. Around 11.00 everyone tried and we came back to our rooms.

FUDCon KL2012 Day-1

Got up on time and had breakfast, bus arranged for us to take UTCI. We reached there around 8.20 and we registered ourself and took food coupons. After a small introduction by Ganesh, day started with Christoph Wickert's keynote ("Leadership in leaderless organizations"). He talked about: people are not leading by any kind of formal authority but by example.

Then Ganesh and Ankur announced for barcamp, and around 16 small session we put on white board. After barcamp session voting we went to grab some food.

Post lunch I went to attend for "Improving Collaboration with other open source project" by Christoph. His talk was about how to get involve with project like mailing list or IRC, use git etc. Then we had discussion about live usb media, what's are changes we will see in future fedora release, how anaconda is evolving and much more.

After that I took small talk on vim, I started with explaining different modes and then how to do fast navigation in command mode, edit a file in new tab, how to get different plug-in etc., Ankur jumped in between and he told why vim is better and why it's designed like that way. He also demonstrated some more cool stuff in vim like recording, replacing, searching and how to do some hack in vimrc file to make life little bit more easy.

Then Ankur had session about "Trouble shooting in Fedora" but from our target audience nobody ever used fedora so we ended up to talk about how to start with fedora, mailing list, fedora wiki, ask fedora and bugzilla :)

Just after I took again a small talk on "Install Software in Fedora". I talked about how to install a software using the source, what's dependency mean, what is RPM, how to install software using rpm and finally talked about yum and repository (how to install and how it's work) etc.

First day was really great met many students and also fedora ambassadors/contributors. Organization team was using walkie-talkie to communicate from different floors :)

Well that's a quite bit of first day stay tuned for more awesome KL .....
